The problem with raw sockets in a consumer OS (which doesn't include 2000's later addition) is that your average user won't have a firewall, or the knowledge of basic security.

for business i can see buying a dell, as corporate users aren't exactly overclocking, crunching SETI, and playing Quake 3 on corporate machines. plus dell is reliable.

but for home? CB is a must!

if you own 98 or ME and have a small budget: get XP!
If you own 2000: don't bother!

and if they don't you buy a replacement component that is bigger and better

i never use customer service cuz i upgrade my OS anyway and sony tech spt sux0rz

i'd rather overclock and have optimal cooling and a 400w PSU
