I need to figure out how to read a single field out of a oldass btrieve database into the SQL7.0 database. I can handle the writing the, say string value, to the SQL portion, but grabbing the Btrieve crap is whats holding me back.

I once asked a database programmer who originally designed the Btrieve database how the hell you access the data and here was his reply

"Btrieve don't need any stinking field names! It's just raw data in blocks."

Sounds fun, but I can't find any data from Novell/Btrieve or Microsoft. Anybody have a clue??
