    MSN Messenger

I remember when I first joined here I used to talk to a bunch of people from here on MSN Messenger... I remember a lot of us used to have huge chat rooms with members, that was fun times....

Desktop messengers seem to be a think of the past, at least I dont know anyone who uses MSN/AIM/Yahoo anymore.

Anyway.... just a little bit of nostalgia .

At work we've got Cisco Webex Connect installed. To be honest I just find it intrusive and relegate it to the background where I barely look at it. I certainly wouldn't want a desktop messenger at home.

MSN Messenger died 14 months ago when MS converted everyone to Skype...

I use skype to chat with our developers in India almost daily. No language or thick accents to deal with

I only ever use Facebook messenger now. Or text messaging on my phone.

Don't feel bad... Other than chatting with the developers I hate CHATTING.

Have a co-worker 20 feet down the hall that would rather chat then walk to my desk.. Old bossman used to start a chat with me then talk on the phone...go get more coffee and basically do anything besides CHAT... For him, there's nothing Instant about Instant Messenger

Yeah that is annoying. We have a messaging system built into the software we use at work (its pretty terrible IMO) and coworkers will use it to message me and I usually reply back telling them to call me because its easier to give information to them...

Nope. Especially considering they merged with Skype like Steve said.

I had a boss who'd always communicate via MSN. He once typed an entire functional spec in... one requirementa at a time. Aargh!

MSN Messenger was a decade ago. Wonka's Badger Messenger was better lol.

Yea, used to talk with everyone back in the day. All the OG VBF'ers

We use MS Lync at work to IM instead of email and as developers get lazier and lazier its used more often than getting up and walking over to someones cube and having a short tech discussion. Guess having a lengthy im session is more "productive", not!

    Re: MSN Messenger

The reason is that IM sessions can be saved to CYA later, if required.
