    Dude,

    Have you tried using twain?

    Also, if you have a Logitech webcam, you can go to their website and download an SDK for doing this sort of thing - you use a COM component to communicate with the camera....

    Later...

    Alot of the times webcams like the Logitech USB ones you can only use them via the SDKs like lams said. But if its say connected to a capture card, then you can try some controls at www.shrinkwrapvb.com

    I know this isn't exactly what you are looking for but I set mine up in about ten minutes this way...

    Most cameras will have a feature to publish a picture to a directory every so many milliseconds/seconds. I set mine up to send each image to the same directory and the same file name (so that each new image overwrites the old one). My VB app then just looked in the directory every so many milliseconds/seconds and refreshed its copy of the image.

    If you actually want to interface with the camera though, I would have to agree that the SDK is the way to go.

    If you use controls, you'll have to use a different control for each camera type.

    If you want to use at home, no problem, just use the control for your camera. But if you want to distribute your program, chances are that the user's camera is different from yours...
    Code:
    Temp = Me.GetIQ()
    'Error 9: Overflow
    'DON'T PANIC! :eek:
