I am curious to see how people's "shack" has improved since they first posted. Im guessing there wont be as many CRT monitors and the quality of pictures will be drastically improved...

If I were to take a picture of my shack today, nobody would be able to tell the difference from the picture already posted unless they examined the details of the clutter. Even that may not be much different.

Do you still have that CRT in the back? Or is that just a weird looking LCD

Re: Post Your Shack
That's a CRT. I have never seen any reason to update that monitor on what amounts to my #3 computer. I rarely use the computer for anything, so the monitor doesn't really matter.

Yeah, but doing nothing is both easier and cheaper. Once I upgrade the #1 system, I can shunt everything down a step. Korean Vegetable Monitors are certainly cheap, but I'm not sure how that would be a viable alternative to a monitor.

I don't worry about scalability. It's better to design a sufficient system right from the gecko.

However, it is always good to stretch before excersizing the ol' pun muscles, so I did a bit of stretching and came across just about the funniest fish in the world (which is odd, since I was looking for lizards):
