Other Developer.com Forums...
Are you guys (active) members of other developer.com forums?
I checked out CG and WebDeveloper and apparently I created accounts years ago and forgot about them...
I am getting bored at work... I think I may have to cheat on VBF with other forums.

Re: Other Developer.com Forums...
I've posted a bit on CG but not for a while. I used to post on a few other less busy VB forums too but I ended up cutting down my forum participation. I now post here and a couple of other forums that are less busy where I moderate, one VB and one C#, as well as on SO.

I'm not a member but I've looked in on some of them from time to time. Good for comic relief. They seem to get a more... desperate crowd. Talk about the one-eyed man being king!

Looking and posting in other forums feels like I am somewhere where I am not supposed to be... interesting as that my sound...
I feel like they are all saying "Get out of here. GO BACK TO VBF!"

More of an observation than a criticism because we all do it to a degree but that's a funny reaction. If someone who usually posts at another forum, do you react like that to them? Do you even know that they "came from" another forum? I guess it's just an indication of how comfortable you feel here.

I think its more of the comfort. I have no way of knowing if someone is from another forum. I have been at VBF on and off since 2006, so its comfortable to me. Going to another forum where the forums, color, and users are all different is weird. The best way to relate it to a real-world scenario is like walking through a neighborhood in which you are not familiar. I am very familiar with Orange County; when I am driving through Los Angeles I have the feeling that everyone knows I am not from here, even though I really do not stick out.

Re: Other Developer.com Forums...
I have an account over at CG as well. I post there quite infrequently. Their VB.Net section is very slow but that's not the primary reason I like here better. They had that sidebar and here didn't which is why I took a liking to here over CG. If I had joined today I might have been participating equally in both forums.

I post in other forums but go by the name jmcilhinney. I just find people take me more seriously that way.

I only post here now for dev stuff. I drastically cut down my multi-forum posting and shifted that saved time to posting on automotive forums lol. I used to be on a dozen or so dev forum sites before

Maybe they have to approve it or something, unless you made a normal thread for it.

Re: Other Developer.com Forums...
It has to get reviewed by one of the CG reviewers manually before it gets approved for publishing
