Please help with vC++ programming :)newbie

Hi, I am newbie to using dll's and activex controls in my C++ application. I am using VC++.

How do call dll's from within my application so that I can use the functions from that dll in my app (I actually want to use neocaption and menubar dlls from vb accelerator)

How do work with the activex controls? In vb, you have properties, events. So how can set the properties and when/how do I recieve the messages in my C++ app?
