CRAZY Post counts!
it's so funny that you guys are so happy when you reach a certain level of posts in this forum. i'm not trying to say that this is a bad thing to do, but it's my own stupid opinion.
what if somebody asks 5000 questions and didn't answer one, his/her post count would probably tell you that this guy is a freakin' genius, right? does 5000 posts make somebody a genius?
i mean this is a great idea to keep people visiting your site...
i know that there are some people on this forum that are beyond 5000 posts and asked maybe 50 of them, now thats a different story...
what do ya guys think?

About 1/3 of mine are from the General VB Questions forum, both asking and answering questions.
Ah, one more on the short road to 1000!

generally speaking, those that have high post counts are "genuises" or at least getting here. If you look at the Members link at the top of the page, then Top 10 Posters, it will give you a list, and all people on the 1st page are good at programming (maybe even some on the second page too )

When I first joined VB World's forums back in 1999, there was not post count. But still people have built their reputation on the forums by helping others. After the post count was introduced, there began a war between people here (I'm not going to mention their name though )
I never cared about post count. If I would have the ability to take it off my profile, I would.
Regards,

I don't really care about my post count - I only really mentioned it at 1000 (for, well, having 1000) and 4096 (Enter the Throbbing Member ).
I prefer to help rather than ask questions cuz I usually prefer to work it out myself, and hopefully pick up something ELSE along the way. Never stopped me asking general computer questions in Chit Chat though
I refuse to tie my hands behind my back and hear somebody say "Bend Over, Boy, Because You Have It Coming To You".

Maybe we should have a computer forum, where our posts do count...
I'd actually DO something in there...
what do you all think?
I'm bringing geeky back...
