Package assistant
Dear members,
I am using spanish version of VB6, so I am not sure of the menu's names.
After some work arround, I could make my VB6 work in a 64 bit machine with W8.1
Also, the package wizard works, after some work with regsvr32 as administrator...
But, using the wizard from the Windows 8 desktop, it works much faster than using it
from the Complements menu of the VB IDE. Really it tooks one minute or more after
clicking in "Make the package"(?), and only a couple of seconds using the wizard directly.
Any ideas?
Daniel

Re: Package assistant
I have been using VB for many years but can't say that i have ever used the package tool from within the IDE. I always use the use the shortcut.
You may be seeing a delay due to permissions, does it give you a prompt asking you if it is ok to run it? If so that is the likely source of the delay

Re: Package assistant
No. No prompt at all. Only a looong time woth the pictura of two folders and the .gif of files going from one folder to the other (like copying files, with something like "Loading package types" message). Not a big deal, only some weird behavoir.
