    uuuuuh........

    if it's possible to make things like playstation emu's, wouldn't it be possible to write an emulator of a satelite decoder... assuming of course, you have a TV Tuner ??

    Yes. Although just writing something in asm won't necessarily speed it up - you actually have to have insider knowledge of your goal that a good optimising compiler won't (for example hijacking the MMX instructions for something totally different).
