Using Decimal for Money

In an .mdf will i get any issues if i use decimal for my money entries as data type "money" and "small money" return 00.00000?

I would think that would be OK but I can't see why the others shouldn't work either.

There are some subtle differences but they're unlikely to cause you problems

That link is silly - and full of disputes.

If you are dealing with dollars the "money" datatype is fine. It's up to you to ROUND at certain points in calculations - that's like how the real world works.

You should format your output in the SELECT statement if you want comma's or "2-decimal points".

MONEY is nice and fast and precise. It's a regular old "integer" datatype under-the-hood with a fixed 4-digit decimal area.
