Start dial-up networking from another PC
At home I have 2 Win98 PCs which are "networked" using a crossover RJ45 lead.
I have them configured so that PC#2 can access the Internet using PC#1 as a gateway i.e. PC#1 has the modem.
My question is:
Assuming PC#1 is running, how can I start dialup networking on PC#1 from PC#2?

Hi Mark,
To do this go to the control panel and go to the properties of the dialup connection, enable the Internet sharing option and check the "enable dial up on demand" or something like that. I will check it when i get home.
I had the same problem now it works fine. I can access the internet from pc2 if the pc1 is switched on. When u try to access the internet from pc2 it will fire up the dialup of 1st pc.
Hope this helps.
