Please give me a suggestion!
This is just a general question about programming:
I want to learn programming in vb, C++, and also some web development languages. But the problem is that when I start reading a book on C++, I get bored and try to play around with vb... when I am bored with that, I think of learning a web development language like Perl or ASP.. So I can really stick to one langauge and I also have learnt much during this summer.
Can you please give me a suggestion on what to do and which way do I learn programming?

I had the same problem...I think that the most important is to TRY all the examples from your books. Then, it will be much more interesting...

But I cannot write some of the "> 500" lines of code. People say that that Petzolds in a good author but he does not explain a lot and tell you about everything

well, that because you doesn't have an target/objective. If you have something on your mind (application/games/etc...). So during development sure you'll hit error and that time you'll start read book, search web for the solution. Will this speed up your learning curve, interest and will not make you bored juz reading book
