It's not piracy! FrontPage Express is FREE!!!!!!! I don't know how to install it, but usually it gets installed with windows/internet explorer. But ever since I needed it, it has disappeared. I know it was here because I would try to view the source of an html file on my hard drive and it would open in FPexpress instead of good ol' notepad. See if you can download it from Micro$oft's site.

I know it does come with IE 5.0 But right now I have IE 6 the one, which is still beta. Since I can remember it didn't asked me if I want Front Page but I will check again.

To clear everything up, FrontPage Express is free but it sucks because it has so few features. FrontPage is not free and professionals use it to make web pages.

FrontPage is used by people who don't know how to use Dreamweaver... I think that the only half decent version of FrontPage is 2000 because it has some half decent functions.... Any web professional either hand codes it or uses Dreamweaver (unless they work for a large company who think that M$ is god!!).

Sorry I needed to let that be said.

Dreamweaver kicks *** compared to FrontPage! And FP only generates its pages best for IE, but DW does it best for both NS and IE.

I agree... I think that Dreamweaver is much better than FP... I hate FP though I know how to use it because one of the companies that I worked for used it... Sorry if my last post was abit confusing.... I was talking to about 8 people at once and lost my train of thought!

Dreamweaver 4 is the best, because you can have the source code in a seperate pane of the window. DW3 is good, too.

What I want is a SIMPLE and light syntax-coloured editor that has tabs to preview the output, and custom buttons for non-ActiveX based browsers (so anything other than IE and Mozilla) - something that auto-previewed as you type would be nice

For syntax color coding and one-button previewing:

    http://www.arachnophilia.com

Not WYSIWYG, but VERY powerful and free.
