I'm still playing with listboxes . . .
Is there a control (list whatever) that has multiple columns? I envisage the app I'm writing having one to allow me to display files that meet certain criteria, with all their attributes.

I have the same problem and I can't use a listview because you can only edit the first column there... AFAIK

When I did my first year A-Level Computing project, I just used the space() function to space out the fields. I used a fixed pitch font like Courier and just made the columns myself. I think you can also do it with tab characters.

Couldn't you use the MouseMove/MouseDown events of the ListView in conjunction with the SelectedItem property to determine which SubItem your mouse is over, and make a textbox appear above it to enter text into, from which you could update the ListView?

Why not just use FlexGrid?
