Member List and Avatars
I noticed that some members have their avatars missing. Any idea?

Re: Member List and Avatars
Make sure the page is finished loading... Either the site or my end is real slow this morning and avatars seem to be the last thing to load..

Re: Member List and Avatars
Examples are many - just go to Member List and sort by posts or reps (high to low). You should be able to see few members (including myself) without avatars although avatars do exist.
That's the only page has avatars missing. Steve may have a point here - this could be related to performance but it used to always be fine.

Re: Member List and Avatars
Confirmed.... But, I checked several sister sites and the Members List has been disabled on most but not all of them.
If I report the avatar or lack there of issue - we run the risk of getting it turned off here too. Odds are it adds overhead and contributes to the over all sites performance.

Re: Member List and Avatars
Member list was in fact off for awhile here as well but it was tuned on. I can leave with this as is...
Thanks Steve.

Re: Member List and Avatars
Then odds are good the list will remain on
I did email Brad yesterday and asked him to review this thread...

Re: Member List and Avatars
The forum doesn't require an avatar be uploaded. The avatars aren't missing -- they were never added to the member's account.

Re: Member List and Avatars
I think I now see what RB is telling, I don't see the avatars of jmchilhinnney, shaggy hiker and rb in the member's list even though they have avatars.

Ah... that would indicate a different problem..... I'll have to look again.

My black square is not appearing in the member's list either! I want my square back.

Re: Member List and Avatars
I made a setting change, but it doesn't seem to have had any impact. Something goofy is going on somewhere, or I'm missing yet another setting......

Re: Member List and Avatars
Big question is why do some show and others don't
I think they just suck bandwidth....

Re: Member List and Avatars
In addition, before the site upgrade, the members who had animated avatars would be animated in the member's list. Now they are not. Not that its a big deal or anything, just thought I'd point that out.
