They also came up with the first version of Google Maps, though it was big, brass, awkward to use, and was only useful for navigation between ports (but was STILL more useful than Apple Maps).

Wait. They? Which they? Norwegians? Fish? English Water Works? Micky and Mallory? I'm so confused right now!

Close. They invented Geography and helped Google confuse us with maps:
The ancient Greek scholar Eratosthenes was the first to use the word geography and is widely know for being the "father of geography.

Considering the rest of what I wrote, does it really matter?

Re: Norway beckons... should I go? <Serious>
As this is a serious post...
I moved from the UK to the USA. Basically, packed up my stuff and went. It was scary as hell, but, you know what? You can always go back. Life is a sequence of experiences, and no two are ever alike. When you have an opportunity for an experience - and living in a foreign country is just that - then, while no-one can tell to to go, or not go, your own mind will tell you that the risk is worth the reward of experience.
I think, unless you have an overwhelming experience after you decide to not go (which will most likely never happen; we make our own experiences - they are never given to us), you will always wonder...what if I had gone to Norway?
