    Re: Spoiler

I'm not aware of such a tag. How would it be used outside of Chit Chat?

    Re: Spoiler

I must admit I can't really see a use for it in this kind of forum. The whole point is to reveal information, isn't it?

    Re: Spoiler

Sorry, but without someone providing a legitimate example of how it would be used for technology topics (not chit chat topics), I can't see us investing the time or energy to find a spoiler tag or widget.

I've been on forums before that had them. They are mostly used to give readers the option to read off-topic musings in posts. I can live without them here but I have to admit, there were more than a couple times I had to stop and remind myself that this forum doesn't have them while I was writing certain posts.

    Re: Spoiler

Only place I've seen them is in forums where we talked about movies and such... we could then hide the spoilers so that others could still read through the threads w/o reading something they wished they hadn't.

Movies are the only real topic that a spoiler tag could be used. However you can always add a description in the thread title like "[SPOLIER] Blah, blah, blah..."

Although, it appears the color method does not work for some words! Look at "Test" in your post.

    Edit:

It hid it in my post but not in your original post.

    Re: Spoiler

Hiding text with color and doing those types of tricks are not really something we want to encourage. Such actions can be red flags to the search engines.

Also - color tricks don't hide the spoiler in the email that is sent to anyone with a subscription to a thread or forum....
