how to connect cellphone and get data in vb.net

hi
i am developing an application in which user will get cell phone information by using the software
now here
i have successfully detected the com ports available in the system but i am confused how to know which particularly com port is being used by hte cell phone via USB
i need a sample code in which i can display (using a rich text box control) the attached cellphone hardware and then can connect to it to fetch some data from it using the AT commands
i cant understand how to implement it because i never done programming with COM port before it. Kindly help me in this way

Hello you can scan ports after device attached and take the newest one from the list.
