He rocks. Full Metal Jacket was an amazing film.
Happy Birthday, and it's silly that you all drive at 16

No it's not! You get a couple of years of driving (5 to be exact) before you are able to drink.....much safer in the long run!
I think it's silly that you are all allowed to drink so young!

Maybe. Although I think they should go for the example of some European countries - beer and wine at 18, and spirits at 21 (or something like that).

I think they should lower the drinking age to 7, then people might be able to handle it better, instead of passing out in the bar as most Canadians do when we go on a binge!

I think my mum was taking full advantage of the drinking age of 5 here in Britain

Yeah, but I was talking about in bars. Then my kids could come and buy their poor old dad a pint (in a few years).

That sounds ridiculous that you can drink at 18 but can't drive until your 21. This way they have been drinking for years and then they can drive, that way they are use to drinking I guess. over here in the states they dirve at 18 and then drink at 21 but most of the kids find themselves drinking at 18 also driving at the same time. I guess your way sounds better, that way they get the drinking out of there system before they start driving. I can hope anyway.

17, but you need to pass your test first having already had a provisional licence (you need someone else in the car with a full licence of at least 3 years, and they're over 21). Once you pass, which is possible within days of your 17th birthday, you're totally legal for all driving in the UK (cars that is - buses and towing things are different).

in some states in the US (kansas is all i know, but i am sure there are more) You can get your liscence when you are 15! My cousin is a year younger than me, and i was showing him my instruction permit, and he was like "dude, i already have my liscence". Needless to say i was pissed.

Here, in canada, you can get your G2 license at 16 but you need be driving with somebody who has been driving for at least 10 years. Then, after 1 year, you can give a driving test. If you pass, you are legal to drive alone.
