IP Address Banned
Don't know if it's me or there's a gremlin in the works somewhere.
Tried to access the Forums using my Pocket PC from a location using the BT Openworld service (basically a set of 'hot spots') yesterday. I received a Page saying that the Administrators had banned my IP Address. After disconecting and re-connecting several times I eventually managed to access the Forums.
I then changed location and again attemepted to logon only to get the same 'IP Banned' message. After about 6 attempts I eventually got connected to the Forums. This time, all I did was repeatedly refresh the page, rather than disconnect and reconnect from/to the hot spot.
I've been using these locations, the BT Openworld service and the Pocket PC for about 9 months now, and this is the first time I've encountered any problems.
I'm happy to believe it's something to do with the ISP / my equipment, but thought I'd report it anyway, as it seems like a 'funny' sort of thing to happen.

Your IP address probably wondered in to the banned ip address range! Do you use a static or dynamic ip address?

Re: IP Address Banned
You can always check an IP on stopforumspam.com. If the IP is listed on that site, then the forum is going to block it.

Wait! That site filters all addresses for each forum before the forum deals with them?

Re: IP Address Banned
What i thought was 'interesting' is the fact that I eventually got connected without changing the IP Address. All I did was to keep refreshing the page.
