OK. I read the faq, and I've decided that I want to learn ASM mainly because I'd look pretty darn sexy with the words "Professional Assembly Programmer" on my resume, and I just think the programming is neato.

Anyways.

I've been trying all these assemblers that people say I should use, one of them being TASM, and I'm not spending money on it. Also there is NASM, and a86, and GASM, and every other *ASM you can think of. I tried A86 because I heard it was great, and most of the code in TASM works in a86., but I can't seem to use it.

Any-Anyways.

Can someone tell me what compiler to use, and how to set it up? People really need to work on their documentation skills. Also, can any of you pros tell me what materials you used and read from to learn asm?

I myself use NASM 0.98. It's free. The language is straight forward too. If you want help in NASM, I would be happy to help.
