    Giving Advice

What does everyone think of this idea . . .

    Never Give Free Advice
The idea being that it'll never come back at you if things go badly . . .

Seem's to me that this is the opposite of this forum . . .

Discuss, giving the reason behind your decision and what factors influenced you.

Your friendly neighbour asks for some help/advice with an IT matter. Do you

    (a) say no - on the grounds that should it go wrong your not insured for liability
    (b) say yes - but ask for a written contract to cover the insurance
    (c) say yes - and offer some kindly neighbour like help

    As they say . . . It's over to you . . .

Always c). (assuming you know what you're doing).

I believe that if you always help people out, then they always help you out. I don't mind fixing family/friends computers, invariably they feed me beer when I'm doing it
