I noticed that other people do it too, Mark, not just eiSecure .
Argh, don't know why people are raising their post count the cheap way. Well, as they get higher, they will realize, post count nor status means anything, as it doesn't mean a thing to me. But still, you people should do it the hard-earned way, by helping people out, this way you can help, learn, and raise your post count without people thinking that you are doing it the lame way.
Annoys the hell out of me when people post such useless stuff like that, glad someone spoke up about it, I was too scared .
Whether your post count is 1, 100, 1000, etc. etc., doesn't mean that you are not as smart as someone with a higher post count. Everybody is a Guru in their own areas, and it may seem that I am the Guru, just because of my post count, but I'm not, I am still learning from people with 500 or less posts. The post count just means that I dedicated myself to this board a lot over the last year. Slowed down a lot though, as I get side-tracked from the VBForums, not as much time to check these boards a whole these days, so busy with work and summer and stuff, argh...but it's still like a cyber world home to me .

I tend to just ignore them despite how hard (and aggravating) it can get. Generally with people like that, bringing it to their attention is going to invite flaming as you step all over their fragile feelings, and really I don't want to read that. It's bad enough that sometimes the post war rages on when there's useful info trapped in between Then you have to read it... Ever notice that it tends to be the kids though? Especially the ones that seem to think pointing out their age is important, when really it makes no difference. When someone in here has to point out their age (and I've only seen this for what I call kids, meaning under 18, and most often hovering around 12-14), that makes me think they're trying to rub it in that he/she is doing this sort of thing and is pretty young. That's foolish to me. Anyhow, I'm going to bed. I'll bet this thread gets some flames while I'm gone too heh heh.
(side note) Well I decided to check those links before going to bed... and I see what you mean. That was a total waste there.

While I agree with the principle of this post I disagree with the direct pinpointing of a particular member. This board has proved to be one of the largest factors in the increase of my knowledge as far as VB is concerned.
I have had many many things explained to me and I learn just as much if not more trying to help others. eiSecure has also provided me with many useful insights and answers to my questions.
While meaningless posts are an annoyance, and they should be posted in the chit chat section provided. They also contribute to the laid back and friendly atmosphere to this board.
Let me encourage everyone to try keep this board the best online vbforum available.
Paul.

heh heh, yes the old post count race. I am sure he will get tired of it soon enough
Perhaps a little harsh given that he is only 14?

If you do want to start talking crazy like eiSecure, just do so in the Chit Chat forum. It's not like some militia where rank matters.

hey Mark..um...should YOU have posted this in the ChitChat Section? Just kidding...
I have noticed ALOT of people will post meaningless conversations in the General section....While I dont mind a few comments...(Ive done that myself hey Im doing it right now! )...I dont like when its gets to be numerous posts of just "chat".
it makes it hard to find the "good stuff" in the post.

I thought about putting it in Chit-Chat but I don't think it would get the notice of the person for whom it is intended.
I just thought I might add that I don't really care about post count and I frequently post to all forums using a different username.
It annoys me when I get email notification of a reply to a thread and when I read the thread it turns out that the reply is just off topic drivel.
I've got nothing against off topic drivel but there is a place for it and this just ain't it!!
(I also object to people posting serious questions in Chit-Chat)

Mark, you know, I was just chatting with a friend on the forum. Maybe you don't understand because you probably don't have any.
Anyways, it's not like post counts are a very serious matter. Me and peet are just having fun and racing each other.
If you've been on more, you would see that I have answered lots of questions to lots of people.
And since you're saying that they should be in chitchat, why is THIS thread not in it, huh?
And stop criticizing others and mind your own business. If you're not good at VB, stop being jealous and picking on others.
VBForums should have a friendly environment where people ask questions and try to get them answered. It doesn't mean that you can't kid around or add comments or stuff.
The way you bad mouthed me in this thread is like I'm a ciriminal or something.

That’s not no excuse there are lots of members with over 1000 posts whose code I have never seen

I’ve explained that above.

Yeah that’s right, my VB programming is utter bollocks but who gives a **** anyway at least I get paid for it.

Don’t add reams of crap to any threads that I have replied to and I won’t complain…
