IMO, HP sucks. Better to go with Asus or Sony.

Asus is expensive, but one of the best out there. I Love Asus. But stay very far away from dell.

Current Dell laptops are not great in my opinion, and Sony do make some nice Laptops but are indeed expensive.
I have been out looking at some for the new HP pavilion range recently with my auntie who is buying a new laptop and i have to say i didn't like them much either and all the reviews say they have below average battery life which is a problem for us.
The ones we have been looking at lately have been mainly Asus or Acer although if we were looking at a cheaper price point we would probably be looking at Lenovo too, in fact we would probably be looking at Lenovo more apart form the fact my Auntie seems to really like the Acer and Asus models we have been looking at.

The model that I have posted here, got reviews saying it has 4+ hours of backup. And one said, since it is using AMD processors, better to get a cooling pad! Other than that, everyone there seems to be saying that it's a great deal.

Re: Your opinion on HP Pavilion G6-2302AX Laptop
Yes, its a great deal. The reason i say stay away from dell, is my mother bought 3 Insperon 1545's for Me and my 2 brothers for christmas. Of the 3, all 3 had defects. Brother one had 5 Hard drives, 2 Screens, a motherboard, and the Ram replaced in his. Brother 2 has the plastics on the bottom of the computer melt due to a fan failure, the processor burn out, a bad keyboard, 2 Hard Drives, A bad touchPad, and a bad screen. On mine, i had bad audio ports, a charer port that ripped off of the motherboard becuse it wasent soldered on properly, a bad webcam, a bad screen, 2 Keyboards, 3 Hard Drives, 2 RAM sets, and a Bad CD Drive. Luckily it was all covered under Warenty, but that is why i will never Buy a Dell Craptop.

Dells deals do often look good, it doesn't mean that there laptops are that good. I think you would get a better machine with Acer, Asus or Lenovo

I still prefer Lenovo or ASUS. HP is fine but sometimes I don't like the features and a bit pricy for some models.

Re: Your opinion on HP Pavilion G6-2302AX Laptop
I've had lots of trouble with early mortality on HP laptops, and ASUS makes a lot of boards for HP so I don't trust them any further than I can throw them.
But it's all a crapshoot. And for that matter a given model can disappear from the market over the life of a thread like this, making product reviews and recommendations pretty useless.
