    Posting in own thread

I have an idea that would keep users from "bumping" up their own threads. How about if the thread starter posts more than once consecutively, the consecutive posts will not move the thread up. For instance:

Spetnik: This is the thread. <-- Moves to top
Parksie: My member stopped throbbing <-- Moves to top
Spetnik: Yeah, I noticed it's vibrating <-- Moves to top
Spetnik: Btw, why'd u change ur avatar? <-- Does not move to top
Barrk: Because I stole the cute rubber ducky. I needed to take a bath <-- Moves to top
Spetnik: Finally. <-- Moves to top

    Not a bad idea.

I posted in my own thread yesterday, only to say that I'd found the answer, so no point in anyone trying to solve it.

I also smeared Chutney on my forehead.

    Bad idea

Why is it so bad for people to bump their threads back up if if they go too far back? It lets more people see it and it gives the question a better chance of being answered. I think it's a great idea.

Also, if such a restriction is imposed, what prevents an especially desprate user from getting a second username and using that to bump the thread up?

Perhaps preventing them from doing it more than once in 24 hours?
