    Question

    Is there a way to set or change a floppy disk's serial number?

    so...

    any body knows how to do this......i'm sure there is a way to do it,,i'v seen it some place but i forget that,,when i don't need it i see it every where,, when i need it i can't find it

    I've tried all the disk serial number code I can think of, and it always returns 0, which leads me to beleive there isn't one for floppy disks. They all work fine on hard disks and cd's, but not a drives, sorry!

    The only way I can think of is to probably use a sector editor of some kind... I had one a while back.

    Do you mean, change the physical serial number that is kinda ramdomly written to a disk when you format it?

    My last question is why? Copy protection!?

    Just curious.
