Someone else posted something about Mainframes awhile back, which brought my attention to Supercomputers. What is the fastest (or overall BEST) Supercomputer that you have ever heard about. Recenty, I've read about an 18Ghz, but I'm
sure many of you have heard of ones that are faster.

I have heard of a terahertz-level processor, but I'm not sure if that's on the same kind of scale in terms of performance per megahertz. I think that was made by some group who were going for the highest frequency they could.

It's not just the Mhz that matters. A lot of supercomputers are build around lots of parallel processors - like 1000 x 1Ghz proccessors.
