    Diablo 3

I know some of you have to be Diablo fans, who here went and got Diablo 3 last night and was highly disappointed in Blizzards server performance?
I was very angered that I went to get it at 12:00 EST ( #4 in line ), they didn't start the servers until 3:00 AM EST (12:00 PDT), and to top it off nobody could connect for another hour and a half after it went "live". But, after that long, painful hour, they had it up and running flawlessly and I was greatly impressed by the game. I ended up playing it from 4:00 AM until 8:30 AM when I went to work, which I am now, sleepless.

I don't have D3 yet as I'm fine with waiting for a more reasonable price (in my opinion) on games, but I do recall Blizzard announcing a few days ago that because of the DLP registration stuff that it has to do for new users it'll cause the server's load to be extremely high at launch. From the sounds of it, the problems they were predicting ended up being much worse, which is unfortunate.
Personally I'm looking forward to the release of the Heart of the Swarm, if Blizzard would get around to actually releasing it or at least announce any kind of a release date.

Its worth the $60, I'm not even going to lie. I lost interest in Starcraft 2 after about 3 months, but thats because I played starcraft 1 and didn't see much of a difference between the 2

I plan to wait a few months here for D3 to drop below $50, like I did for sc2. Since HOTS is an expansion it'll be less than $50 anyways, I may or may not get it right away, I like to wait for reviews before shelling out cash.

I played a lot of sc1 and bw back in the day and if you're not into rts games you wouldn't notice much of any differences.

Well I liked starcraft, company of heroes, AoE, etc.. but starcraft 2 was just the same old starcraft to me. Kind of like Counter-Strike 1.6 and CS:GO.

Diablo 3 on the other hand, is almost NOTHING like Diablo 2

I thought they went live at midnight Pacific? I was on around 4:30am Eastern, but didn't have much time to do anything but zap a couple of zombies.

I didn't pay for it, though, as it was a free download, so cannot say what the 'value for money' is going to be. $50-$60 is a tough pill to swallow, though.

Well, the game itself is worth the $60. Blizzards servers and their constant maintenance is what is killing it. I doubt they've had the servers beat an uptime of 4 hours so far.

I know Diablo 3 is part of a video game series, but what is it? Is it a fighting game? I assume it's an MMORPG or an RPG.
    Do not read this sentence.
You read that last one, didn't you?
Darn. You now read the previous two.

lvl 55, 50,000 life. I'm going to try to beat 100,000 whenever I get more time to play, work is a struggle.

I've had the game since release and just hit Act III on normal... Fiance is gone this weekend so I'm hoping to get through at least normal by the end of the weekend.

Currently a lvl 26 Monk with a whopping 1k life.

I'm playing softcore, I would have quit the game if I made a hardcore character first, I would have gotten to hell and died... smashed my laptop, slapped my girlfriend, and drove my car into a brick wall.

Don't smash the laptop, that's a waste of good hardware!
