Access Local File System
I've been looking into how to do this, but I'm having some difficulty. I can't seem to find information about this.
I have an ASP.NET page that I need to have access the local file system. It's an intranet. I need to download a zip file and an executable to a temp location and then run the executable.
Then afterwards, I need to delete the contents via an ASP.NET page.
Is there any way to access the local file system? Generally, I would think this would cause a security concern, but I've seen posts about Silverlight being able to access it. Is there a way to prompt for the security concerns or something?

Re: Access Local File System
I'm still interested to know this answer, but I'm going to explore using Silverlight.

Absolutely not!The only way i know would be if you create an application like an activeX component and have your client download it.

No worries. I was able to get it to work with Silverlight very easily. Took pretty much no effort at all. And I get to learn a new technology. So double whammy.

Good for you but silverlight is not worth the effort imho, it may cover 05.-1% of web usage.Better learn flash.
