Pity you already bought Corel, it's a bag of *****e Mandrake is far superior (currently on version 8.0 but moving to 9).

Is it a PCI network card? NE2000 compatible? RTL8019 compatible?

After buying that, I know that it was sh*t.

It is just a PCI ethernet card. I dont know anything else about it.
Parksie, Should I buy linux again and will it be better to program in windows or linux?

Buy it again? Possibly. Mandrake is available to download as 2 ISO images from www.linux-mandrake.com (this is about 1.5GB to download so if you're on a modem don't bother ).

However, many people prefer different distros - SuSE is very good, as is RedHat, but the development stuff on that is a tad dodgy (non-compatible beta versions).

As for developing on Windows or Linux, it depends on what you're writing. It's a sore point on many sides.

The main problem is that I dont have a CD burner so I will really have to buy it and in my town, it is over $40.
If I was to download then there was no problem because I have DSL.

$40? I bought it for £5 (about $8 I think). Do a search for Mandrake 8.0 GPL and there should be some online suppliers doing very good rates.

Linux Mall. Most distros for $3.

Here is Mandrake 7.2 for $3.

I use RedHat, but I do that mainly to support the local guys. You could try Mandrake, but I suggest SuSE. I understand it is pretty awesome.

If you get it CotS you will have to pay anywhere from US$20-US$180 depending on the distro and configuration.

The software is free, which is why it is US$3 from Linux Mall.

It is, but the $40 boxed sets include CDs, manuals, and support.

All the distributions are available for free download, and since abdul is on DSL downloading them isn't a problem.

If you don't have a CDBurner, you could download the ISO, then use something like an ISO Buster(I think they exist), and then copy the files to your HDD and install from there... I think that could work... Did basicly the same thing when I installed win2k... I had a friend send me the i386 folder of his MSDN CD(containing W2k, obviously. The good thing about MSDN though, is no SN required), then I burned that to a CD(incase I wanted to put it on another computer) then I copied it to the root of one of my drives(d:\i386) and was able to install from there.....

Never tried it for Linux though.
