    Actually I have some customers who insist on Win9x compatibility. So I have a Windows 95 VHD I use under Virtual PC for testing.

    Thus I still get to hear that eerie and a bit clunky start up sound from time to time.

    There's plenty of prop planes still around. If you count smaller/personal planes, probably more than jets.

    Well, it depends on where you're expecting to hear them. Service planes like crop dusters, a lot of cargo planes etc are pop planes. There are many very large military propeller aircraft as well still in production.
