New Here and looking for some help/advice
Hi I'm new here and am looking to see if there is anyone that might be able to help me figure out how to create an application that will help me to determine how much eBay would charge me to list an item.
I've looked all around the Internet for a ready made program that will help me to do what I'm looking to do, but haven't had any luck. I have some programming experience in Basic, C, and C++, but it's very minimal.
Currently I'm taking items from my suppliers catalog and entering the retail price that they list into Excel and the adding 10% on to that to get the adjusted price. I'm then taking the adjusted price and entering that into eBay's fee calculator and then copying the result back into Excel.
I'm trying to set it up so that I can determine the best price that I can sell an item at without appearing too high or too low. So far I'm having a terrible time with it and would like to setup some that will greatly enhance my productivity. All of the items that I'm looking to sell on eBay at the moment will be drop shipped by my supplier to the customer. So far everything that I have listed has been in eBay's fixed price format.
I'm new to selling on eBay and don't have a lot of time or money to be playing games with it. I'll be happy to provide as much information as I can. I've been looking at doing it in Visual Basic, but it's been suggested that it all be done in Excel. The program has to account for any and all eBay listing fee's, Final Value Fee's and any fee's that they may chose to charge to have it drop shipped to the customer.
If I could give it the ability to help me with determining the costs that my supplier will charge me for the item then that would be great and would help out a lot. I'm a private individual trying to do this so that I can make some extra money to pay bills with and to help me make ends meet while looking for a good job and to help me get out of debt.
Ideally the program will take a lot of the guess work out setting the prices and will allow me to focus more on things like writing ad copy and dealing with product pictures.

Re: New Here and looking for some help/advice
I considered this before years ago when I had a hankering to do the ebay thing, but the main problem I had was my products were varied and no matter what algorythym I tried, I had very low prices with no profit or very high prices with mega profit. Still, my prices were within prices others had on similiar items. I also found that if you have no time, ebay will be a bear to deal it. It required much more time in maintenence than my retail store does. I dumped it real fast as I realized, ebay was costing me money. I sell 20 times the volume in my retail store as ebay.
