cmon, this is all getting out of hand. lets not fight now. Voting against members is too much. For example, s/o could have a bunch of friends sign up new accounts to vote against s/o. I think maybe there should be a good complaint system in place in which we can log complaints against users, and they can be reviewed by administrators

Well ...
There is no point in fighting over such trivial points as posting links to other threads at different places. Many members have done it, sometimes in genuine attempts to attract attention, sometimes just for fun.
Just because some member is posting links to his/her threads in other threads, or just because some member doesn't like others doing it is no reason to ban or ignore members.
If you feel that a member is violating the basic principles of sharing knowledge on the forums, you can use the Report This Post To The Moderator link at the bottom of a post to report it to the moderator and let them decide if the member should be banned or not.

sebs,
Please don't cross post between forums -- use one forum, and be done with it.
CiberTHuG,
Chill out a little. He made a mistake: point him the right way for the future, and ignore his question if you feel really strongly.
We will never have a 'vote this user out' type system. If you have a problem with a particular user, email me, and I'll look into it. This is a free resource for everyone, so no one has more of a right to being here than anyone else.

Good Ol' Platypus
I've been in another forum where people were voted out for sheer fun and joy. It's ridiculous !!
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
(Just a heads-up)
