    I use it.

You probably guessed that from the other thread.
I've used it with several VB project and for working in teams teams it's a must.

We had a white-board originally on which to write our names against files we were currently editing. Cheaper than SS but not as good!

I've just joined a Java Server Page project and the've only recently applied VSS to it and some of the other team members are a bit sloppy about checking stuff out correctly.

I had to modify a file on Monday so I checked it out, edited it and checked it in again. I came work on it again today and someone else had checked it out without replacing a local copy (which he'd manually made writable) and checked it back in again! The ****!

A few strongly worded emails ensured he'll take more care in future...

    SourceSafe is Great!

    i use it,

everytime i'm on the project i use SS, even if i'm the only one working on the code... it is really good practice to keek code in it.
keeps history of all changes and you can always check what has changed and *****...

    my 2 cents...
