    I'd have though the real credit should go to the two glider pilots rather than the sky diver. Either way it's pretty damn incredible though.

    I didn't know you could go inverted in a glider...that in itself is pretty awesome.

    Using gliders makes it safer for the skydiver. No propellers to cut you up in the event you go where you don't plan on going.
    And that is surprising that a glider can go inverted.

    Why ? The only reason most prop planes can't go inverted is because their fuel is gravity fed.

    It's not just 'curvature' - aerofoil - which creates the lift. The aerofoil design makes the lift principle more efficient. Angle of attack also influences lift, as well as a whole host of other factors.

    If you look at the pictures (on the link) of the two gliders, when the gliders are both upright, their bodies are parallel. The inverted glider pitches upwards to create a greater angle of attack to create lift, and fly in the same direction as the glider below, which has the benefit of the aerofoil to create its lift.

    This makes it all the more impressive for a glider, since the wing design is necessarily efficient. Increased angle of attack creates an undesirable drag on the aircraft, and it particularly detrimental to one without thrust capability.
