The corn needs to be right for that to happen, we do that all the time here(I don't mean making popcorn, microwaving a whole corn cob), although we only microwave for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

The two of the biggest uses for corn, that I can think of are Corn Sugar - Eventually turned to HFCS
    and Ethanol.

I didn't know Indians loved to watch live prons! I thought they only ate dead ones.

Is it a nobrainer that only popcorn can be popped?

    Hi moti,
Instead of putting whole corns in microwave to get pop corns why don't you try packet pop corns. They are easy to make and delicious in taste.

yes i agree with it , packet pop corns are very easy to make and it takes 2 minutes, better than putting a whole corn in the microwave.

That is debatable... I prefer traditional popped or air popped.

Is that like air guitar, i.e., you hang around waiting for something that doesn't exist to be popped so you can pretend to eat it?

Heck, I thought that was an Ad. Didn't even realize it was a (relevant) link until you added this post. I was afraid that if I clicked on it I would end up at a Michael Jackson merchandizing fan page, or something.

    Re: popcorn

Actually "corn" is a word very like "grain" in meaning though in some places we consider it to mean a grain of maize as opposed to wheat, barley, rye, etc.

So you probably mean an "ear of corn" and not "a whole corn."

And yes, wheat comes in ears as well.

Popping corn normally refers to varieties of maize that are good for popping. And yes, you can buy "seed corn" to grow your own if you can't get the stuff from the store to sprout reliably.

Now you're just being corny. I'd give you an ear full, but that when it comes to corn, that would be considered a stalk reply.
