Do you think I should donate to Wikipedia?

Well, I read that appeal the last time around and again a couple of days ago, and I am worried Jimmy Wales is losing weight. His cheeks have gone down and the cheekbones have come up, he has a few days' old stubble (which means he can't afford to squander the last blade he has got from whatever donations people gave last time).

So I have been wondering: Should I donate a few bucks?

Have any of you donated money to Wikipedia? Do you think it's a good idea?

Yeah, and for anyone who wants to post something like "If you have money to spare, please send it to me instead of Jimmy Wales...", you need to send me five nude photos.

I tired to donate once but they couldn't process my card because the dropdown list didn't have my country listed, in fact they have listed the name of the country that hasn't existed for over 6 years. So I emailed their donation support about it and sent them a link to the wikipedia article about the country. Never got a response.

Well, it's not exactly like I like Jimmy Wales, I don't even know him!

Wikileaks? Hmmm... I don't want the governments of a dozen countries coming after me, so I guess that's out of question. Unless there was a way to get hold of those documents and recover some of the money I have had to pay over all those years ...

Coming to think of it, Wikipedia is probably the second or third site I use the most, after Google. So why not?

I don't agree. Have you seen Jimmy's pictures since Brin donated $500K to Wikipedia? He's smiling and much happier in the appeal pictures since then.

wikipedia is a great source of knowledge, but, HOWEVER, on the other hand, on the other side of the coin, never the less, personally I don't think the level of the articles, understandability and comprehensiveness wize, justifies donations.

He did, did he, now? $500K, was it? Bugger, he knew I am still paying for my mortgage, else I could have matched his offer!
