Canon Camera-Power Shot G6 Died, next

After thousand photos, sever trips overseas, being bounced around , my Canon Power Shot G6 died...the lens came off track...I can see this.
    Options, repair...$120
Ebay, buy the same, I have several 4GB memories, and batteries
What I like...I know my camera, photos, videos
    7.1 Megapixel , focal range of 7.2 to 28.8mm (35-140mm equivalent in 35mm format)
What I don't like...when shooting a video, max of 2 minutes per video,
    the light sensor doesn't change.
When taking a video, it will not change when going from light to dark.
I turn off the video, camers will reset the light-sensor, then continue the video...I know, I am asking a lot.
    Or, buy a different camera.
    What do you like?
    Thanks

buy a new camera and make sure you get an accidental handling and damage warranty. if you break your camera, the warranty company will buy you a new one.

I have heard good things about the mirrorless cameras.

Mirrorless cameras can be found for 400-800$ depending on how fancy you want to get with it. I'd also throw my vote in for a new camera. If you had a high end DSLR it would be worth it to get it repaired, but point and shoots are usually better being upgraded.
