    New Virus written in VB

    Hi,
I have noticed that some people uses Msn Messenger like me so I Just thought I will tell you that there is a new virus out called Choke which infects through msn messeger. Many of you may already know about it, but just incase.

I just removed one from a friends PC. Its not harmful but just annoying . It constantly sends u messages to the person you are chatting to and tries to send an attatchment called choke.exe. which infects the victim.

Guess what it was written in VB (surprised !!!).

Anyone knows where it originated from, it cant be this site cant it !!!

For more information and removal instruction just go here, but the easiest way is to delete the .exe(choke.exe, hotmail.exe) from the c:\ drive and delete the registry entry from the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Choke

    Mc Affee Missed something hey

It also makes a file called daList.txt in C:\ or the local drive.
The attached file will get rid of it though.

Yeah, my friend had it - it's VERY annoying... I think (or perhaps it's another one) it also says stuff like "[email protected] is typing a message..." in the status window and stuff, and constantly displays the wink emoticon - just harmless but damn annoying
