    Perhaps with a bit of tinkering in safemode and with regedit you could rename Notepad, Crappad?

    Actually, I deleted the shortcut using the context menu from the menu. I'm just griping about the poor pattern matching.

    That's a special feature in Windows. You won't see it in any other OS.

    the + is being used as an "and" ...
    But I can do even better... in outlook I was looking for an email regarding the release of a patch... I knew the release number and patch.... so I typed it into the instant search.... it was fine up to the point I hit the second . ..... and then it said "no matches" .... but if I searched on just the patch number (the last two digits of the three-part number) ... it would find it... and everything else with those same numbers.... I eventually did find what I was looking for, but not to any feature of outlook.

    Outlook search has helped me keep my emails meticulously organized... in the hope that I'll never need to use it.

    The irony!
    Whenever I enter 'notepad' (and I actually just want notepad to open), I get notepad++ as first result...
    Delete it. They just clutter threads anyway.
