Outlook File Save As Type
As part of our procedures at work we frequently need to save messages in received in Outlook, to do this we go to File, then Save As.
This then defaults the Save As type to HTML.
However we need to save Emails as Unicode Outlook .msg files.
Is there any way to change the default Save As file type so that we do not
always need to keep setting the File Type.
We are using Outlook 2007.

Re: Outlook File Save As Type
Hi Honeybee,
I would like to change the Save as type without having
to use a macro if possible.
I find it kind of strange that the default is html and
Not Outlook msg format

Re: Outlook File Save As Type
I use Outlook 2010 and the default format for save as is html as you stated. However, when I select the type as outlook message unicode, it remembers what I choose next time (even after Outlook is closed and reopened).

Re: Outlook File Save As Type
Hi stanav,
Sorry for not getting back sooner.
We use Outlook 2007 at work, and it does not remember what type I last selected, it
just defaults to HTML

Re: Outlook File Save As Type
In Outlook 2007 it does not save the last saved as file type for you.
I did write some code to save attachments which can easily be changed to save as email msg if you like.
