VB & Access97 Security
I have posted this in the database section as well.. sorry, but I really need an answer to this one.
Here's the scenario,
I have a VB front end that accesses the security workgroup file (MDW) of a database.
The VB front end requires the users to login, this then open a connection via ADO to verify the user and does a lot of error checking. I wrote this because the login dialog box to access is crap.
Anyhow, I have a menu option in the front end that allows the users to change thier password to the workgroup because I have disabled this feature in the access database itself.... but that's all I have. I am not sure how to code this in VB.
I know how to do it for a database password but not for individual users. Any help would be appreciated and remember I am using ADO not DAO.
Thanks,
Mega_Man.

Go to http://msdn.microsoft.com and then goto office development in the left handside. It should help you with that. I remember about 3 years ago i had to do the something similiar and there was a kit there that helped me create security via VB instead of Access. I do not remember the name of it and this was long ago. In a job that i wish never to go back to.
