[RESOLVED] Unrecognized tag prefix or device filter ‘asp’

I have opened a web site usign visual studio 2008 3.5. Its full of errors, i dont get any intellisense and my asp controls error

Unrecognized tag prefix or device filter ‘asp’

Ive done research on deleting all my schemas, and an issue with nested masterpages but its still happening.

Any advice.

Just to clarify, is this a website that you have successfully opened before, and have known to be working?

Yes, not personally but it works because we can use the site and it opens on VS on another machien and my colleagues visual web developer

So, are you using the same version of Visual Studio? Is it possible that you don't have something installed that your colleague does?

Hi again Gary, yeah the visual studio versions are the same, I did the work on someone elses machine so its not urgent at the moment, I just want to understand whats wrong

Given that the machines are the same in terms of what Visual Studio is installed, I am at a loss to think of anything else.

Are you able to open other web sites/applications on the machine that this one doesn't work on?

Perhaps a repair installation of Visual Studio?

Yeah its strange other projects open fine. Ill close this and try a re-install.
