Does donating plasma have any consequences that you notice? I've started commuting to work by bike, which is about 27 miles each way, so I'm not going to consider anything that makes me even more hungry.
it takes some protein from you but your protein balance is checked as well as your iron, etc, and bi-monthly you send a blood sample off to a lab for a complete work-up. If your numbers are too low, you aren't allowed to donate until they come up.

Also i might have detected a small mocking of my user name there... Just a FYI, my last name is "Lord". Does sound regal though, don't it lol.

as for the rest, they don't use trans-fat oil any more. That stopped years ago and it's actually illegal in new york.

Not really it says meat fat and dairy products can contain natural trans fats, the actual beef itself does not. Your article also suggests that natural trans fats are not the same as those created by hydrogenation.

as for the rest, they don't use trans-fat oil any more. That stopped years ago and it's actually illegal in new york.
Again not entirely true, you dont legally have to declare your oil to contain Trans Fats if it contains less than a certain percentage something like less then 1%, so McDonald's can declare they dont use Trans Fats in there oil even when they do.

If people want to eat McDonald's then fine but i do find it strange when they also try and claim that it is healthy for you.

Anyway does no one else find McDonald's Burgers entirely unsatisfying ? especially when compared to proper burgers you can buy from a butcher ?

I find a McDouble, two McChickens, a small fry and med dt soda is just perfect for me. Sometimes I don't even make it to the second chicken sandwich. Usually costs me less than $5 since it's almost all on their dollar menu.

At home I make my own... chuck, round, spices... grill... mmmmmm

I saw a movie this weekend with Jack Lord in it... YEARS before Five-O. wasn't top billing either... secondary I think.... dang... now I can't remember what movie it was...

and that's why they made IMDB ... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051666/ God's Little Acre... it was a commercial for the movie that I had seen.

they actually use the same puncture spot every time. I'll never have track marks but i could have a permanent scar attaching my skin to that vein.

Playing devil's advocate here, but that's something like 1400 calories. A mcchicken has 360.

Why didn't any of them pick up on the facts that:
    1. He was walking 5 miles a day and exercising daily before the 30 day period and quit doing any sort of physical activity, even walking, for those days.
    2. He was overeating by the extreme, to the point that the first meal he ate he actually puked it back up again. A normal human being is going to stop eating when they are full.

I don't care WHAT a person eats for 30 days. If they quadruple their calorie intake while stopping exercise, their body will go to hell.

Even the doctors in on the show said "your lympocytes might go up, other than that you shouldn't have any ill effects". Of course they didn't know he'd be overeating and stopping all physical activity.

This movie is just a large scare-tactic put forth by what amounts to a vegan, has no scientific basis for the results he claims (because of the actual cause), and all in all, was probably designed from the gound up to help someone win a lawsuit.

I am in a unique situation to critique his results. As a mcdonalds employee,i eat two employee meals a day. I have actually lost 5 lbs since working there.
French fries and soda are pretty bad for you.

But yea, the movie is misleading.

Instead he should be pointing out that McDonalds makes bad food, and people shouldn't settle for such bland soulless **** (even for most chain restaurants).

I think Wendys even makes better product.

McDonald's coffee and breakfast is halfway decent though.

    Re: Super Size Me

that may be while i am surviving on it. I work as early as 3am to whatever and my meal is almost always from the breakfast menu. It's interesting to note that a mcmuffin with cheese on it is better for you and lower calore than a biscuit without cheese.

    Re: Super Size Me

McDonald's has the slogan "I'm Lovin' It". Meh, to me, more like "I'm Hatin' It".

I had no problem with McDonald's up until the mid-2000s, but since I was exposed to Super Size Me back in 2005, I already got the message way before the movie was half over, and I discotinued going to McDonald's as a result. I had lost 30 pounds since 2004.

To sum it up, it's better for me to spend more money to get better food. If it's cheap, it's too good to be true. I think McDonald's should just die already. Whoever invented the hamburger made a huge mistake.

I even read a post that said the end of the movie had a tombstone that read "Ronald McDonald 1954-2012". Maybe the trademark to Ronald McDonald's name is probably set to expire in 2012, and McDonald's is not likely going to renew that trademark name in 2012, mainly due to being a bad influence on kids?

I thought ronald was removed from all of the food advertising and he just pimped out the Ronald McDonald house stuff.

No, not mocking in any way, just playing around with it. It's a good name.

    i don't think so.

They've dumped all the other characters but ronald's going strong. Funny story: Someone stole a waving ronald statue from off of the roof of a local mcdonalds last week. It was found on a miniature golf course.
