Internet Explorer Hook-In Capability
Hello All,
Hope you are all well and will be coding gleefully into the night.
Now, I could do with a bit of assistance, I am trying to find out whether or not it is possible for me, from a VB.net application, to hook into a running IE window and retrieve things like:
- Source code of currently opened website
- Active URL
- Page State
- Window Title
etc. Now, before I move on, I know that, quite understandably, requests to hook in to another program on the same system are often met with suspicion. Due to the potential for abuse. So, I will explain!
I'm developing a kind of parental control that will scan and grade web pages viewed through IE in an effort to determine whether or not they are likely to contain links to illegal downloads / torrents / etc. Based on a grade calculated by my system, the web page will the either be shown, or not shown.
I'd really appreciate any help! Incidentally, I don't want the IE instance to be running from within the program. Is this even possible guys and gals?If there is a non-API route to follow, I would prefer but, if not, i'd be open to API suggestions
Many Thanks,
Jordan
