    New forum category suggestion: Blogs

all users are already familiar with the usage of posting here. How about a forum dedicated to the users posting blogs? It would be just one more way to get this site noticed. If possible, the forum could be set so that only a person who creates a thread could post in it. That's optional though. Alternatively the creator could have full moderator abilities over that thread (delete spammy posts, etc.)
it could be a subset of chitchat so as to not affect post count.
    Personally i would use it.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean! You want a section for people to post links to their blogs/websites?
when you quote a post could you please do it via the "Reply With Quote" button or if it multiple post click the "''+" button then "Reply With Quote" button.
If this thread is finished with please mark it "Resolved" by selecting "Mark thread resolved" from the "Thread tools" drop-down menu.

Suggestion is noted. Let me think about this and how it could be added. I might actually be interested in opening up blogging on one of our other sites as well....

meeeehhhh..... I'm trying to figure out how this would work and if it would be beneficial enough... most of the people that I would follow already have blogs which I read... and for anyone that wants to start a blog, it doesn't take much to set one up...

I dunno... I'd be worried about the quality of it and then it dives and goes the way of social groups here... yeah, it seemed like a neat idea at the time, but does anyone still use them? Plus there's the usual upgrade issues... unless it's something that's built into vBulletin ... *shrug* I guess I'll reserve final judgement for when I see how (if) it pans out and how (if) it is implemented.

"blog" carries a wide range of posts. Personally i want to post a technology one, and leave out the personal stuff. I already have facebook for the other. It may be already implemented in the software. Don't forget we have the option for friends lists and picture albums, but nobody really uses them.

I know a blog can carry a wide range of stuff... I have three... a technology based one, a model train one and a family geneology (although it's being used for other purpose at the moment) ... and your point about things that nobody really uses... was kind of my point... is it really something that would get used, properly, a lot? My guess is no.

If you want to start one, so go ahead... head over to Wordpress.com and sign up... that's where mine is hosted. I also have it setup so that it cross-posts to FB and my twitter accounts... when necessary, I post links to it from here if it's relevant to the topic at hand.

It also allows me the freedom to post regarding technology but may not be relevant about anything here at VBF.
