Help me identify a connector
Anyone know what connector type this is:
It's a power adapter for a GPS car mount, I'd like to look for it locally because I keep getting shipping estimates over 50-60 USD. It might be easier to find a generic one if I knew a type.

Re: Help me identify a connector
That looks like a standard charger for the cigarette lighter sockets in cars, and at the other end a pin suited for phones such as Samsung. Today most phones come with (micro/mini/standard) USB or in case of Nokias a single pin charger. I have a Virgin phone (carrier name, not manufacturer) which has a pin similar to the one in the pic. The phone is about four years old.
Why not try to solder one yourself?

That's a good point about the Samsung connector, it does look like it a lot. I'll have to give it a try.

Re: Help me identify a connector
As far as I know, there are many slight variations on that adapter. My last two Verizon phones had ends that looked like that, yet were incompatible with each other. It may be as much trial and error as knowing the actual name.
My usual boring signature: Nothing

Could be a micro-USB connector.

Re: Help me identify a connector
Definitely not micro USB. I have that on my phone, and this one is thinner and wider.

Looks to me a Samsung indeed. Problem is every year (new serie of phones) they change something with the connector. Are you sure its from a GPS?

Re: Help me identify a connector
Definitely. It's a generic brand car power cable for a Garmin Zumo 660 suction car mount. I had the original ones but some idiots broke into my car and stole it. Had to pay $150 to replace the window :S
I'm looking to order a new one but I don't think it comes with a power cable so I'm trying to find that too. The ones I'm finding online are quoting me ridiculous prices for shipping so I thought if I could identify the connector I could try and find one locally.
The local Garmin dealer doesn't have the mount or the power cable

Re: Help me identify a connector
You should smash someone's window who has the same GPS and take .... oh wait a minute...
Need to re-register ASP.NET?
C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v#VERSIONNUMBER#\aspnet_regiis -i
(Edit #VERSIONNUMBER# as needed - do a DIR if you don't know)

I can see them here (the netherlands) for $25...$40. $150 is far to much indeed.

I ordered the mount yesterday. As soon as I get it I'll go shopping with it.
