IE9 is released
I know many users are on Firefox and Chrome, but IE9 actually stands up next to them quite nicely. It was released yesterday.

Re: IE9 is released
Back on the 27 of last month I saw an ad for it here on VBForums and downloaded it and installed it. I didn't see any mention of beta anywhere so I thought it was released back then. I started a thread on it here that is now about 50 threads back. I like it and would say it's the best IE so far. Microsoft is getting better with time. I like Vista better than XP and Windows 7 better than Vista and I like IE 9 more than any of the previous IEs.

Make as many mistakes as you can as quickly as you can. We want to make sure that we make a great enough number of mistakes in a given amount of time so that we can be successful.

I don't think you could pay me to use a MS browser, I'll stick to chrome. I'm pretty sure that 20,000$ from google went unclaimed at pwn2own this year while everyone else was ripped to shreds (safari hacked in 5 seconds iirc).

Just installed it. Going to give it a shot for a little while. I'd like to use just one browser for all the things I do but so far still need IE or FireFox for a handful of things even though Chrome has been best for everything else. Time will tell.

Re: IE9 is released
As a web developer, I think I'm permanently bitter at IE for its historically lousy web standards compliance. I doubt I'll ever use it as my primary browser, but the better it gets (and the more people who actually use the newest version), the easier to deal with it.

1) The guy who was supposed to show up to exploit chrome backed out, likely because whatever flaw he was going to use was patched in the week before the contest when the browsers got their final round of updates before the contest. Same thing happened with firefox.
2) Any hack that they have, regardless of browser, usually won't take more than 5 seconds to happen.
3) They didn't make any mention as to if the flaw used in IE8 would be successful in IE9. Very possible, but we don't know.
I don't think chrome is a bad browser, I am just not a fan of using software from a company whos business model is 100% about showing me ads.
