Just curiosity. Would you please enlighten me on the following:
If we go back to the very beginning, this thread is initiated by Witis because, as he puts it in his posting #1, "Windows seven won't let me write text files to the program files directory (without virtualisation), so I need to find an alternative ......". Following our discussion on IsUserAnAdmin, would it be practical to say that, if merely for the purpose of arriving at what Witis wants, all he has to do is to "elevate" his privilege before attempting to write the text files?
Edited: I mean to "elevate" privilege simply through "Run As Admin" in a popup.
